The Louisville Police Department offers Care Check as a non-emergency option for situations where someone may need to be checked on for safety or wellbeing.
How Care Check Works:
Care Check requests are reviewed case by case and handled as department resources allow. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, scheduling, or recurring visits.
- Request regular wellness visits for elderly relatives, children, or vulnerable members of our community.
- Choose your preferred check frequency: daily, weekly, or monthly.
- Specify the best time for visits that works for you and your loved one.
- Receive updates after each completed check.
Emergency calls, staffing, and other police priorities may affect the timing or availability of requested checks. When appropriate, the requester may be contacted after a check is completed.
Care Check requests are handled with professionalism, discretion, and attention to the circumstances involved.
